"The engaging, tight production - under two hours! - filled the Hangar Theatre seats and featured a rocky isle, billowing sails, and thunderous storm. Under Stephen Ponton's thoughtful direction, six omnipresent Ariels did the bidding of a curmudgeonly Prospero (Michael Donato); the romance between Miranda (Rachel Fichter) and Ferdinand (Matt Winberg) felt emotionally authentic, and a comely Caliban (Amara James Aja) was released from his Prospero-induced deformities. A most satisfying tale."

A terrible storm at sea...

A shipwreck on a remote island...

An exiled magician and the powerful spirit he commands...

An innocent first love...

A plot to murder the king...

A drunken butler with delusions of grandeur...

A fool, a "monster," and a harpy...

Shakespeare's late masterpiece, The Tempest is a perfect blend of comedy, drama, romance, adventure, and magic. It also offers a critical examination of early European colonialism and a speech that might represent Shakespeare's final farewell to his art.

A gripping tale of revenge and reconciliation, shipwreck and salvation, storms and spirits, brought to life with all the technical magic of the Hangar Theatre!
