Advertising Opportunities

Program ads are available in various sizes for businesses that would like to reach out to thousands of playgoers each summer.

Our program of outdoor Shakespeare began in 2003 and has been growing steadily each year. As an example of what we can offer your business, please consider the following:

  • Our 2011 summer season had a total attendance of just over 4,000, with as many as 500-600 spectators at individual performances.
  • Audience members in 2011 came from throughout the Ithaca area and Central New York region, from every major city in New York State, and from at least seventeen other states and five foreign countries.
  • Our productions have proven to have a very broad appeal, with audience members ranging from families with young children, to university professors and alumni, to business and community leaders, to retired seniors. We take special pride in making Shakespeare's works exciting and accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Our program has received enthusiastic support from the Tompkins County Strategic Tourism Planning Board, the Cornell Council for the Arts, Cornell Plantations, the Cornell and Ithaca College Theatre Departments, and the Tompkins County Community Arts Partnership.

In 2011, we expanded our summer season to include two productions in rotating repertory. This was a key step in our long-term goal of building a true Ithaca Shakespeare Festival, and we would like to invite your business to be a part of this process by helping to support our work through a reasonably priced program ad.
