"The very best summer thing." -- Warren Greenwood, Ithaca Times
All shows at 6 pm at Robert H. Treman State Park
This summer, ISC will present a play that we've performed several times, but never outdoors!
A terrible storm at sea...
A shipwreck on a remote island...
An exiled magician and the powerful spirit he commands...
An innocent first love...
A plot to murder the king...
A drunken butler with delusions of grandeur...
A fool, a "monster," and a harpy...
One of Shakespeare's last plays, The Tempest is a perfect blend of comedy, drama, romance, adventure, and magic. It also offers a critical examination of early European colonialism and a speech that might represent Shakespeare's final farewell to his art.
A gripping tale of revenge and reconciliation, shipwreck and salvation, storms and spirits, music and magic, done outdoors for the first time in our history. (Let's just hope the title doesn't influence the weather this summer!)
